Services

We act for private individuals, small and large businesses from sole traders to multi-national blue chip companies and charities both local and national. As well as notarising documents for you, we can also arrange for their legalisation, including obtaining Apostilles from the Legalisation Office of the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office. We can arrange Consular Legalisations if required.

We have experience with many different types of documents for a large variety of countries so may be able to help with the various specific requirements of each destination territory. We can also obtain translations of documents for you where required.

A Public Notary is a specialist, independent lawyer, qualified and registered with the Faculty Office of the Archbishop of Canterbury. The Notary certifies documents and transactions for use in countries outside the UK.

The task of the Notary is to verify your identity, be satisfied that you fully understand the nature and effect of the document, that the transaction is honest and lawful, and that you are not under any outside pressure to go forward with the transaction.

The signature and seal of the Notary is recognised by foreign countries as being that of a responsible officer meaning that the document can be accepted as legitimate and can be relied upon in the country for which it is required.

For these reasons you have to meet face to face with the Notary. We cannot deal with any notarisations by remote connection. If you are unable to attend the office we may be able to arrange a home visit.
